MEZUZAH CHECKING
Do you need help with checking of Mezuzot? We are happy to offer assistance and guidance related to all aspects of Mezuzot. Mezuzot should be checked twice every seven years to see if they have been affected by adverse weather conditions, or by folding (which can cause cracks in the letters), or if any other defect has occurred. It is preferable to check Mezuzot which are on the outside of a building more often, due to their vulnerability to the elements.
Just DROP OFF and we will have a scribe Check them
We will come to your house to take down all your Mezuzos. We return the following day to put them back up after they have been checked or we can check them at your home!.
When putting the Mezuzos back up the Sofer will ensure all the Mezuzos are placed in the correct location according to Halachah.
For every house call there is a service charge in ADDITION to the cost of checking the Mezuzos.
The cost of the Service call varies by location.
The option here is only for the cost of the service call.
The cost for the Mezuzah checking is an additional $12 per Mezuzah. To get a total quote including the Mezuzah Checking put in the quantity of Mezuzos please contact us.

Tefillin Checking - Inspection & Repair
Tefillin should be checked every 3.5 years to ensure that they are Kosher. Many Rabbis have reccomended that they be checked every year. There are many things that the Sofer(scribe) will look for when he checks your Tefillin. The two basic categories are: Damage that may have occurred do to water, heat etc. and problems in the way the Tefillin was written such as spelling mistakes, touching letters, improper spacing etc. If a problem is found, the Sofer has to determine if it can be corrected or not. Checking Tefillin requires the Sofer to check the Batim and Retzuos, to insure that they are Kosher. Unfortunately, many sofrim only check the scrolls but not the other parts of the Tefillin. Tefillin checking tends to be much more expensive than Mezuzah checking because the Sofer has to re-assemble and sew shut the Tefillin. This is a time consuming process.
